Tom Thurman took office in 2005 and is in his fourth term as a County Supervisor. He has been the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors three times and has become the voice of reason in Yavapai County Government.

He is involved with a variety of economic development and ecotourism groups and supports reasonable growth. He has spearheaded the Yavapai County Health Department’s partnership with the National Association of Counties Organization to bring a prescription card program to the citizens of the County. Economic Development, Water, Roads and Health are important issues to him, as they are to the people he serves. Supervisor Thurman has been active on a variety of public service committees and volunteer groups to benefit the communities and neighbors they serve and represent.

He is noted to be a fair and reasonable man, looking at all sides of an issue and researching it fully to make the best possible decision for the citizens of his district as well as the County as a whole. When asked why he ran for office his response was, “because of all the things I have ever volunteered for, this had the ability of doing more good for more folks.” He will continue to work with all entities of Government and County Departments to bring the best possible solutions to the issues that affect the citizens of Yavapai County.
