National Assessor's Day

Tuesday, September 29, 2020 is National Assessor’s Day! Your Yavapai County Assessor, Judd W. Simmons, performs meaningful work in the county by ensuring all properties are accounted for and valued fairly and equitably.

Assessor Simmons strives to better the assessment process both in his office, as well as statewide. Judd has worked with his staff to complete a commercial canvass project, modeling of market areas (creating a consistent and equitable process for land valuation), and has revamped the production reports within the office, which allows for an efficient and up-to-date representation of the hard work Yavapai County appraisers are performing monthly. Judd serves currently as the Treasurer and Secretary of the Arizona Association of Assessing Officers (A.A.A.O.). He also participates in Citizen’s Academy, an opportunity to educate the public about what the Assessors duties entail.

Assessor Simmons is also passionate about our county, he serves on the board and is a member of 100 Men Who Care, an organization of local gentlemen who donate to area charities. He also participated in Dancing for the Stars, raising $62,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona. Assessor Simmons is proud to serve Yavapai County as it continues to grow and thrive!

2021 Notice of Change

The Assessor’s Office mailed the 2021 Notice of Change Assessment Statements on September 18, 2020. This statement is to advise property owners of any changes made to their property values or legal classification for the 2021 valuation year. If you disagree with the changes that were made to your property, you may file a Petition for Review with the Yavapai County Board of Equalization within 25 days after the date of mailing. Only properties receiving a Notice of Change statement are eligible to file a Petition for Review. Petition for Review appeal forms for the Yavapai County Board of Equalization must be signed and either hand delivered or mailed to the Yavapai County Clerk of the Board by October 13, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
