Sarah Smith – Manager
The Customer Service and Permitting Unit of the Development Services Department is charged with the intake, processing and issuance of all permits for the unincorporated areas of Yavapai County. Permits for buildings, structures and grading are required in all of the unincorporated areas of Yavapai County. The size, type, use and value of a structure or project will determine the level of review required for the permit.
In 2001 the Board of Supervisors implemented a One Stop Permit Process to insure that permit reviews are coordinated with all County Departments, and that approved plans and permits meet all of the County’s requirements. This One Stop Permit Process is administered by the Development Services Customer Service and Permitting Unit Staff.
Permit applications are accepted between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday at 1120 Commerce Drive in Prescott and 10 South 6th Street in Cottonwood. Please allow 10 to 15 working days for your permit processing. Alternate construction methods or commercial projects may require additional processing time.
